Good Press Release Site - Very Cheap

Press releases are an excellent way to promote your new business or website. You can gain massive free exposure with the help of press releases. Whenever you launch a new website, product or service, try submitting a well-written press release to the top sites. You may instantly gain lots of traffic and top Google rankings.

The problem with many press release sites is that they are either too expensive to submit to, or the cheap ones don't fare too well in search engines. However some sites are free to submit to and can help in getting a lot of attention from the search engines.

One such site is the http://www.free-press-release.com

Their press release submission service is very cheap. You can even submit a free press release, but it is recommended to pay a small fee and get some additional features. The paid submission is quite affordable with price ranging from $5-$30 or so.

Check it out here - Free press release

How to Earn Money on Internet Quickly

I love internet marketing mainly because it is a convenient way of making money from your home. I mentioned some other reasons why I love internet marketing.

Just read that article and come back here. However making money on internet may not be all that difficult and at the same time it may not be all that easy too.

What we have to do is to take action, be persistent, avoid distractions, be consistent and follow a tested business model. There are many business models we can follow in order to make money on internet.

I came across 1 such model which seems pretty interesting and impressive. Its named conduit method . The advantage with this method is that it seems to be a fairly simple method to implement for beginners and they can earn a lot of money from that.

Another tried and tested plan presented by the same author of the above method is discussed here - Lazy SuperAffiliate Tactics

I definitely feel that both the above methods are worth a serious try - something I intend to do soon.

22 Ways to Get Traffic Without Search Engines

Increased search engine traffic for our websites can be a real boon and blessing. But there is a slight problem.

With search engine competition becoming really really fierce, and it is getting difficult day by day to gain top search rankings and maintain those rankings once you have achieved them, I was forced to think of alternative ways to remain in internet marketing and get targeted website traffic without heavy reliance on search engines.

The Google Algorithm keeps changing every few days. I do not want to lose my sleep and rely on things I do not completely control. So I was forced to seek ways I can get traffic to my website without Google or any other major search engines.

To my surprise and delight, I found a lot of people seeking and discussing alternatives to search engine traffic. And some of them had good suggestions. So I have compiled a small list of articles or suggestions I came across which I found worthy of mentioning here(I might keep updating this small list as I find more such useful articles).

First review this list of websites providing useful information for getting traffic without search engines, then I will give you my own list of suggestions for increased traffic without the SE's.

1. Moving Away From Search Engine Traffic and Towards Independence:

This is a good post on how we can move away from over dependence on search engines for our website traffic and do things that we would be forced to do if the search engines do not exist.

Imagine for a moment that there is no Google or Yahoo to drive traffic to your website. How then would you get attention for your website? What things would you do? This post offers some suggestions.

2. Build Websites Like Search Engine Traffic Didn't Exist

This is a really good post on why we need to forget the google robot and focus on the reader first to build traffic. The author of this blog offers his blog traffic stats and mentions that a relatively smaller percentage of traffic to his blog comes from search engines while the rest comes through other sources.

When you build websites without thinking of SE's you will be forced to contribute articles which are worthy of being read, referred and linked to. This can be an excellent strategy in the long term instead of relying solely on increased search engine traffic.

3. Is Article Marketing Dead?

In this post, the author covers a few topics like is wordpress good for SEO, is article marketing dead and so on. Makes for a good read.

4. 38 Niche Social Media Sites That Can Send You Targeted Traffic:

If you want traffic from social media sites and are fed up with big sites like digg or reddit, then you can try the smaller but more focused to a particular niche sites mentioned in this post.

5. Do Long Sales Pages Work?

When you get traffic, you should also convert it well, otherwise it might go waste. Check out this article which should make you think again if you believe that long sales pages convert better.

6. How long does it take to make okay money from internet marketing?

This question can be important for newbie internet marketers who have been lied to and given over-hyped claims. It is important to be realistic and patient and work hard at it initially. If you try to take shortcuts then you might try and game Google or try other such techniques which might work for a short while then backfire.

It is important to work on great content and building good site. Then you will not even have to depend on search engines for traffic and you certainly not have to try and games or black hat techniques. But it can take time and effort. So be prepared for it.

Some of my tips to get traffic to your blog or website without search engines - Search Engines No More:

1. Submit to as many web directories as you can
2. Submit RSS feed to as many RSS directories as you can
3. Make useful podcasts relevant to your niche and submit to as many podcast directories as you can
4. Make useful videos and submit to as many video sites as you can
5. Make some useful e-course and submit to as many e-course and ezine directories as you can find
6. Create as many short useful free reports and submit to as many ebook directories as you can
7. If you have a script or free software related in some way to your niche, then submit it to as many software sites as you can
8. Participate in forums
9. Make useful comments on other blogs
10. Use Social Bookmarking and other web 2.0 sites
11. Write and submit articles to as many article directories as you can without worrying of duplicate content penalty (remember you are pretending that search engines do not exist)
12. Join yahoo and google user groups related to your niche as well as user groups on sites such as myspace, gather, orkut and lots of others and post useful relevant content with links back to your site
13. Use linkbaiting articles to get others to link to you
14. Participate in link exchange networks and reciprocal linking
15. Try some paid linking programs with high traffic websites and related to your own site (remember we are not worried about any search engine penalties)
16. Find and try out some free and cheap advertising methods like ppc ads or ads on high traffic websites related to your niche or theme
17. Make landing pages where you are offering some free stuff and get traffic to it through traffic exchanges - to see how you can do this with good results, check out this report: Easy Traffic and Money System
18. Make use of popular classified and auction sites like craiglist, gumtree etc. to get cost-effective advertising for your site
19. Write guest articles on other blogs or sites
20. Make powerpoint presentations relevant to your niche or product and submit to slideshare site
21. If you have your own product to sell, join many affiliate networks like clickbank, shareasale, maxbounty etc and let the affiliates promote your products for commission
22. Do some offline advertising in newspapers, magazines, brochures and pamphlets etc. with your website address on it
23. Put your digital products for sale on sites such as lulu, payloadz, spotbit and others. These sites have a lot of existing traffic so that you can get free exposure to an extent without advertising

All the above might take time and patience on your part. But slowly and steadily you might start to see a lot of increased traffic building up to your website without the help of search engines and chances are that this traffic is not likely to vanish all of a sudden.

Hopefully the results you achieve doing the above things might not be as volatile and unpredictable as search engine rankings.

This does not mean that you give up search engine optimization and marketing completely, but you should try to find other means of regular targeted traffic and referrals to your website or blog. The amazing effect of this might also be increased search engine traffic as well even though you were not concentrating on that at all.

Earning money on internet

I stumbled upon a very interesting idea about internet marketing in this article: don't think about making money

The idea is this: dont think about making money, if you do then it might elude you and get you
frustrated. Instead, focus on pleasing people within a subject matter which you feel passionate about. If you change your focus to this then you may giving your business a solid foundation and you may not tire of growing it.

It looks an interesting idea... We really need to shift our focus from just making money to helping people. Money will most likely follow. Create websites of real value to people. Ask yourself, "What problems can I help people solve?".

Nobody's saying that earning money is bad or something like that. Even though, the primary
motivation for many of us while blogging or creating websites might be to earn money, but we have to forget about it for some time and while creating websites or writing content, focus solely on pleasing our site visitors with good quality useful content. This is the method recommended by Ken Evoy of sitesell.com too.

What are your views on this subject?

8 rules for writing well

Earlier I had written an article about 6 step strategy for writing anything faster and more effectively. You may read about it here: How to write well.

Now that you have a simple strategy for writing, let us consider some points which make a good writing. William N.Yeomans, in his book 1000 things you never learned in business school mentions 8 rules for good writing. They are as follows:

  1. Write with the reader in mind
  2. Decide what your purpose is.
  3. Say exactly what you mean.
  4. Keep it as short as possible.
  5. Make your point in the first paragraph.
  6. Use a format that guides the reader.
  7. Write fast - build your writing speed.
  8. Arouse the reader's interest.

The above rules can apply to writing a letter, memo, report or even an article. Before we even begin writing, we need to do these two important things:

1.Ask ourselves :"Who are my readers?" and "How can I write so that they relate to it?"

2. The next thing to do before putting a word on the paper is to make clear the objective we want to achieve while writing. We may do this by writing down :"I hope, as a result of reading this, my reader will ______________________________________________" .
Now fill in the blank with an appropriate response desired from your reader.

There are more important points covered in the section 'How to write well' from the book 1000 things you never learned in business school

Though the author mentions the points with regards to business communication like writing memos, letters, reports etc. they can be applicable to other forms of writing as well. You may want to read the book even if you are not interested in business communications and specially so if you are interested in business communication. The book covers more aspects of business besides communication.

Improving vocabulary skill: Vocabulary building activity

Having a good vocabulary is very important as it assists in communicating your ideas properly. If you want to write or speak well then you have to concentrate on increasing vocabulary. The more command you have over words, the better can be your writing or speech.

It is recommended to focus on and devote some time regularly to expand your vocabulary. Here are just a few ways you can increase your vocabulary:

1. If you are unsure of any word, you encounter while reading or speaking to someone, refer the dictionary. Constantly referring the dictionary is a good habit.

2. Read extensively. Read a lot and whenever you come up with any word you are not familiar with, look up its meaning in the dictionary. Its advice-able to do this for every new word you encounter, even if you have to do this for 20 words per page. You may write down the meanings near the words in the book itself with a pencil.

3. While looking up a word in the dictionary, also see its pronunciation and proper usage with the help of an example sentence. Most good dictionaries do provide an example or two for each word.

4. Also look up the synonyms and antonyms for the word. By noting down the synonyms you can expand your vocabulary further and it also helps to avoid repeating the same word while speaking or writing as you can include its alternatives if you have to say the word more than once in a sentence or paragraph.

5. Crossword puzzles, scrabble and other word games can be helpful for increasing your vocabulary.

How to make visitors stay longer at your blog

Do you want visitors to stay longer at your blog and browse through more pages? If so, then consider the following suggestions :

1. Provide valuable content:
This is a no-brainer and is the first and foremost condition to make people want to stay longer at your site and even come back to it later. If they are fed with rubbish, it takes them less than a second to close down your site window or browse to some other hopefully better site.

Before posting any article on your blog, ask yourself : "What benefit does this post provide to my readers?" Then make sure your post provides the desired benefit to your readers. Keep doing this for some time and soon your blog may get a very loyal fan following.

2. Related Articles:
After good content, the next important thing would be to make your site easy to navigate so that people don't find visiting your site too inconvenient.

One thing I have done at my blog is to add 'Related Articles' section at the end of each of my blog posts. Earlier I did not make use of this technique but am happy with the results after this change.

Make a list of 4-5 similar or related articles from your own blog and provide links to each, at the end of all your articles. This list would provide useful direction to the user.

Rather than depend on the visitors to navigate your site by themselves, take them by the hand and guide them to areas of their interest.

3. Have more categories (tags):
If you look at the right hand side of my blog, you can see a list of categories. Try to make this list big so that people can easily find articles of their interest. Having more categories can improve the navigability of your site and save valuable time of your site visitors.

4. Have more specific tags:
While naming your categories (tags), be as specific as possible. Earlier I used to have a tag named 'self-improvement', but later I began to be more specific in naming my categories.

I still have self-improvement tag, but I also have further tags like 'people skills', 'stress', 'sleep n energy', 'success', 'writing n blogging', 'learning tips', 'public speaking' etc.

Instead of having 100+ articles under 'self-improvement', you now would have a few articles under specific sub-categories making it easier for site visitors to find articles of their interest.

Have more categories(as mentioned in tip #3 above) and be specific in labeling them. You can also make use of tag clouds to attract reader attention, like the one I have at the bottom of this blog. You may generate tag clouds free of cost through sites such as : www.zoomclouds.com, www.tagcloud.com

5. Involve the reader:
Make your site interactive by getting readers more involved while they are reading your articles. You can increase reader involvement by asking questions or getting the reader to think about a topic. You may have discussions on your site, encourage comments from readers and reply to those comments.

One more feature you can add to your blog that increases user involvement is to ask them to rate your articles on a scale of 1-5. You can install this rating feature for free from the site: www.blogarate.com You may notice that at the end of all my articles, there is an icon called 'Rate it'. Just click on any of the star to give your desired rating for my articles.

6. External links in new window:
You may want to provide links to other websites so that readers can get additional information about a topic. External links can be helpful in adding additional value to your content by pointing visitors in a useful direction. However, on my blog, I usually make external links open in a new window so that people do not leave my site even while browsing the other webpage.

7. Faster Loading:
One more important factor for your blog or website is the time-factor. Your site should not take forever to load up. Visitors may just not have the time, patience or the inclination to wait. I personally don't like sites which take a long time to load up due to heavy graphics and stuff present.

As far as I am concerned, a clean professional look and valuable content are far more important than catchy designs or heavy graphics. By no means am I suggesting to keep your site dull. Infact a good looking site can attract people. But do not over-do it.

The above tips may be helpful in making your visitors stay longer at your site. You may not notice dramatic results, but there should hopefully be satisfactory improvements after implementing these strategies.

Which of the above strategies were you already using on your blog or website and what has been the result of using that strategy?

An effective way to solve problems

One of the best ways to solve problems is by writing them down. When you write down a problem and some possible solutions, you can get more ideas than you previously had. You may gain better clarity about the problem and new ideas can pop into your head.

The process is simple - just make the habit of writing down any problem, goal, your to-do list etc. One more advantage of writing is that you can overcome the problem of forgetting as important things might slip away from your mind when you are involved in some other activity.

Writing about your goals, problems and their possible solutions also helps you in focusing better and hence you can make more mature and intelligent decisions.

Just take a pencil and paper and start jotting down any thoughts you have about the problem at hand. You should write whatever you are thinking and not think about what to write. This is the most important point to remember.

Keep writing down all thoughts you have in your mind about a problem. After a few minutes of writing, you may feel much better about the problem as you have uncluttered your mind by putting your thoughts on paper.

If you were previously confused about the problem, your confusion may have lifted a little bit or you may have got some new ideas to try out for overcoming the problem. Keep adding to these notes if new thoughts about the problem arise.

A final piece of advice:
Think about some current problem in your life which you may have been trying to solve from some time. Try writing it down on a piece of paper or open a word processing document and start typing away. You may be surprised at how much more effective this is than just trying to solve it in your head.

How to write faster and better

Let us discuss some ways of how you can write better and faster. Whatever it is you want to write - whether an exam paper, article for magazines, newspapers, writing a book etc., the tips here should help you put your in putting your thoughts on paper.

Step 1:
The first step is to list down all the important points you want to make in your article. Go through the list in detail so that you do not miss any important point. You may just write down a keyword or phrase to remind you of the point, no need to write complete sentences at this point of time.

Step 2:
After listing all the points, arrange them in a logical sequence now - which point should come first, which should come next etc.
]

Step 3:
You have now done the preparation work for writing the article. It has been said that effective people spend more time on preparation than on doing the actual work. You now have the outline of the article. The remaining steps should now be simple to implement.

Start going through each point in your list and explain them in a brief manner. Try to make the explanations as brief as possible because the readers may not have enough patience to read if the article is too lengthy.1-3 short paragraphs for each point should do the job. But make sure that you have made your point clear, do not sacrifice clarity for the sake of being brief.

#While explaining the points, make sure that you write down as fast as you can. Writing down fast can help prevent mental blocks. Do not worry about spelling mistakes, grammatical errors etc. at this stage (you can correct the errors in #Step6). The trick is to write fast without thinking much, if you think too much then you are likely to get stuck. Just focus on explaining each point and moving on to the next point. Focus on completing the task at hand.

Step 4:
Make sure that your article has appropriate headings, sub-headings or sections for easier readability. Many people just scan through articles without reading them in full. By dividing the article in sub-headings and highlighting them, you are making it easier for people to scan through the article as they can read in detail whatever point interests them and skip the rest.

Step 5:
Only after finishing the article, try giving it a suitable title. It is not recommended to begin with a title as that may restrict your thinking to just the title. Its better to think of the title at the end, then it is more likely to be a suitable one for your article.

Step 6:
Re-read the article. Make any desired changes, improvements etc. Check for spelling mistakes or grammatical errors and correct them. You can keep re-reading and revising your article till you are satisfied. Finally you should be ready with your article. Congrats! (By the way, I used this same 6-step method of writing this article, and it took me less than 10 minutes to finish it).
